Pulmonary Program Aimed at Chronic Lung Disease
Chronic pulmonary disease can cause shortness of breath and impact the ability to perform everyday activities. It often leads to an inactive lifestyle that
in turn leads to weakening of the body as well as worsening of chronic lung disease symptoms.
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is a nationally certified program to help people with chronic lung disease in regaining
their strength and muscle function. The program staff includes physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, a dietitian, and a social worker.
The staff works with each person to help achieve individual goals.
