EMT-Basic Training Program
The course consists of 120 hours of didactic (classroom and hands-on) training, 18 hours of in-hospital emergency room clinical time, and 24 hours of recommended ambulance ride time. Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to take the National Registry of EMTs written certification examination, which if successfully completed, will grant State of Iowa and National Registry of EMTs certification as an EMT-Basic. The EMT-Basic course is conducted on campus twice each year, from mid-May through mid-June, and early November through early December. Paramedic Specialist full-time training programs begin approximately one month after each EMT-Basic program ends. Check our calendar for the start date of our next EMT-Basic course.
