Sarcoma is a rare cancer. There are fifty-six different types of soft tissue sarcomas. Their name comes from the type of tissue the cell comes from originally (fat–liposarcoma, blood vessel–angiosarcoma). There are about 8,300 cases of soft tissue sarcoma diagnosed each year in the United States. The age group affected by soft tissue sarcoma are those between the age of 40 and 60.
