The adrenal glands are located in the abdomen, just above the kidney. They secrete several hormones that are necessary for life. Many adrenal tumors are found by diagnostic scanning done for another purpose. Most of these tumors are benign yet some may need specific treatment if they produce an excess amount of hormone.

Adrenal gland cancers are rare and can be quite large and may also produce hormones. However they are treatable and curable if they are still confined to the adrenal gland.

What is adrenal cancer?
